Why We Built This Site
North Carolina gives the public broad access to many court records. The hard part is figuring out which office holds the file you want. In Chatham County, the Clerk of Superior Court handles court case files, public terminals, certified copies, and estate matters. The Register of Deeds handles marriage records, birth and death records, deeds, plats, and recorded instruments. The Sheriff's Office manages the jail roster, arrest blotter, incident-report path, and public safety app. State systems such as the NC Portal, NC Judgment Search, VINE, and the Department of Adult Correction add more search paths.

- We cannot guarantee that every phone number, fee, or address listed on this site is current right now
Only the issuing court or government office can provide a certified copy with an official seal. We can point you to the right office, but the document has to come from them.
